Weekly Update

AES Families,
We have a lot of exciting things happening at Auburn over the next few weeks! Please take a few minutes to check out these important reminders and upcoming opportunities for our Tigers and families.

MAP Growth and DIBELS score reports will be sent home with students on Wednesday. These reports provide important information about your child’s current performance and help us understand how we can best support continued growth. MAP Growth provides information about your child’s current academic performance and growth in reading and math, while DIBELS provides information about the foundational literacy skills essential for becoming a successful reader. Both assessments are given three times each year—beginning, middle, and end of year—so we can monitor growth, track progress, and use the information to guide instruction. Please take some time to review your child’s reports. If you have questions about the results or what they mean for your child, please reach out to your child’s teacher.

Ice Cream is THURSDAY This Week!
Since there is no school on Friday, we are moving our weekly ice cream sale up a day! Students will have the opportunity to purchase ice cream this Thursday. Please send ice cream money by 8:00 a.m. Thursday.

Make Your Mark on Dot Day — September 15!
On September 15, AES will celebrate International Dot Day! Inspired by Peter H. Reynolds’ book The Dot, this special day encourages children to be creative, try something new, believe in themselves, and recognize that each of us has the ability to make our mark. We want to fill Auburn with DOTS! All students are encouraged to wear dots to school on September 15—polka dots, colorful dots, big dots, little dots...get creative! More than a fun dress-up day, Dot Day is an opportunity to remind our Tigers that their ideas matter, their talents matter, and they can make a positive mark on the people and world around them.
